AbstractAn operative method for lumbar microdiscectomy in rats is described in general terms so that it may be adapted to any microsurgical laboratory. The operation may be used as an advanced exercise in microsurgery, or to prepare surgeons for clinical lumbar microdiscectomy surgery.
