ABSTRACT The need for environmental awareness and “green management” in business and management has led to green becoming a vast field that needs to be parceled out to identify the green shoots. Knowledge is emerging as the key factor in developing green awareness, which in business has come to be called green intellectual capital. The aim of this research is, after bringing green shoots to the surface, to analyze the green intellectual capital research front identified in our study (one of the green shoots that surfaced) and to offer new perspectives on it. For this, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of 4142 articles on “green” between 2012 and 2022 and a content analysis of 38 articles on “green intellectual capital” from the origin of the concept in 2008 to 2022. The contributions of this study include identifying 19 of the most active research fronts on green in business and management, as well as finding what advances have been made (and what remains to be done) in the literature on green intellectual capital.
