AbstractA method is described for the determination of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, inorganic sulphur, boron, manganese and zinc in leaves by direct‐reading vacuum‐emission spectrometry. The ashed samples are diluted with graphite and cellulose. Potassium chloride is added as a spectroscopic buffer and germanium dioxide as an internal standard and the samples are pressed into pellets suitable for excitation. Potassium is determined by flame‐photometry.
