The surface properties of graft copolymers of polyvinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate were investigated. The vinyl acetate grafts anchor the copolymer to the surface. Compression forces the vinylpyrrolidone residues beneath the surface, imparting considerable flexibility and accounting for the high compressibility and low cohesion observed.
