AbstractFranchising has been a path to growth and expansion for thousands of U.S. companies over the past three decades. And it has also attracted a lot of attention in overseas markets. U.S.‐based franchisors are currently operating in more than 160 countries worldwide. In addition, there are successful overseas franchisors who have penetrated the U.S. market and others.
