Abstract

SummaryBacterial meningitis is a rare but potentially life threatening complication following spinal anaesthesia. It is important to consider this in the differential diagnosis of postoperative patients with headache and reduced consciousness following spinal anaesthesia. We present a case of bacterial meningitis following spinal anaesthesia for elective total knee replacement.
