AbstractWe analyse in this work aspects related to the ISO 14001 standard to certify an environmental management system: the average time to obtain the certificate, the level of difficulty and the numbers of trained managers and employees, among other things. With this analysis we show that the process of certification in Spain has not reached a sufficient level of development yet, but is in a progressive stage of introduction.
