AbstractNucleation of PbTe crystals on the oxide surface has been investigated by the method of statistical thermal analysis. The “aftermelting” point of crystalline lead tellurium on the quartz surface may be found from the dependence of melt supercooling on initial overheating. Correlations between the substrate conductivity and maximum supercooling indicate that the electrostatic contribution to the total interfacial energy may be considerable.
