Seven patients undergoing an infusion of 30 per cent urea‐10 per cent invert sugar solution (Urevert) for treatment of cerebral edema were studied with regard to plasma urea kinetics. The 2 compartment (extracellular and intracellular fluid spaces) model has been applied to analysis of the plasma levels. On the average, the human data could be simulated with our standard canine correlation: 2 compartment urea transport coefficient K, (liters per hour)= 0.735 weight (kilograms)± 14 per cent.
