AbstractMichael Brill has opened a valuable discussion about camera gamuts and Roy Berns has questioned the use of the word “gamut” in that proposal. We would like to stress the importance of associating a gamut with an imaging output device and would thus question the use of the concept proposed for assessing the capabilities of an input device. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
