Clinical levels of fear of cancer recurrence reported by patients with localized prostate cancer may not decrease, even over an extended time frame (9 years). A lower level of education, years since radical prostatectomy, early biochemical recurrence, and current therapy are important predictors of persistent clinical levels of fear of cancer recurrence.
