AbstractThere are several factors that could affect the left ventricular end‐diastolic pressure. These include heart rate, preload, afterload, pericardial or pleural pressure, diastolic properties of the left ventricle, and the left ventricular inotropic state. Recognition of these factors appears important when considering the left ventricular end‐diastolic pressure as an index of left ventricular function.
