A mathematical model describing anaerobic biodegradation of acetate in an HFBR is presented here. The model considers the cylindrical geometry of hollow fibers and the nonlinear Monod kinetics that are characteristic of biodegradation. The results of the numerical solution of the model are used to predict the results of a planned benchscale study of HFBR-based wastewater treatment
