ABSTRACTDimethyl itaconate and dicyclohexyl itaconate monomers are polymerized successfully for the first time via suspension polymerization. The obtained polymers possess significantly higher molecular weights and more narrow polydispersities compared to itaconate polymers prepared in solution or in bulk. The yields of these polymers from the suspension process are higher than the polymers synthesized from bulk. Solution cast films of both polymers were too brittle for mechanical properties characterization. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2018, 135, 46417.
