This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: Aim To assess the effectiveness of dental auxiliaries in providing care traditionally provided by dentists. Objectives To compare the effectiveness of dental auxiliaries compared with dentists in: the diagnosis of oral diseases and conditions; their technical competence in the delivery of some aspects of dental care; oral education and other oral health promotion measures; and delivering dental care that is acceptable to patients. the diagnosis of oral diseases and conditions; their technical competence in the delivery of some aspects of dental care; oral education and other oral health promotion measures; and delivering dental care that is acceptable to patients.
