This article discusses the lack of male hormonal contraceptives in a market that is filled with a variety of female contraceptive options. Researchers have long studied the potential male hormonal contraceptives that would render sperm unable to swim infertile or unable to fertilize eggs. Besides the obvious benefit of less unwanted pregnancies hormonal contraception has also shown signs of decreasing body mass in healthy men. However negative side effects such as ache mood swings irritation testicular changes etc have slowed advances in this field. Further research and FDA approval is needed if researchers hope to release a male hormonal contraception option to the public.
