Abstract

This text concerns itself with the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system and directs the basic information toward the proper diagnosis and treatment. The book takes up the gross anatomy of the limbs and back, as well as the individual tissues of the musculoskeletal system—bone, muscle, cartilage, and synovium. Included are the microscopic structure, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology. The excellent text gives well-written, concise information. The beginning of each section indicates the goals and objectives that allow the reader to assess his individual learning progress to the maximum degree of efficiency and at an individual pace. Information flows smoothly from section to section, with no break in continuity. The text is more than adequate to give the reader a concrete basis on which to build a stable foundation for future knowledge.
