</script>To the Editor:— Regarding the communication, "Spontaneous Intracranial Hematomas in Patients Receiving Anticoagulation Therapy" (JAMA187:396 [Feb 8] 1964), Drs. Dooley and Perlmutter comment that "The degree of anticoagulation in patients receiving coumarin derivatives is usually evaluated by measuring the prothrombin consumption time." It is unfortunate the authors chose the words, "prothrombin consumption time." This misleads the knowledgeable reader to associate the term with the prothrombin consumption test, which, of course, has no place in the control of anticoagulation therapy.
