Blastomycosis is usually considered a skin lesion or a systemic disease. In a review of the literature I have been able to find only one case of blastomycosis of the tongue. Copelli 1 in 1913 reported a case of a woman who presented a tumor of the tongue consisting or an aggregation of six rounded nodules on the back part, with some enlargement of the submaxillary glands. She presented also blastomycetic lesions on both feet. Examination revealed the blastomyces in the affected tissues. The treatment used and the end-results are not stated in this case. I wish to report a case of blastomycosis of the tongue examined in the Mayo Clinic: J. S. M., man, aged 52, chief of fire department, came to the clinic, Feb. 7, 1916, for tumor of the tongue which had been first noticed eleven months previously. The family history was not important.
