InThe Journalof May 22, 1909, Dr. Eshner reported a case of undiagnosticated brain abscess. In a day when chiefly successes are given to the medical press I feel like congratulating the Doctor for his courage in publishing a failure, for as such much be regarded all cases which are undiagnosticated, or are wrongly diagnosticated. Though it is embarrassing to report mistakes, the science of medicine is often materially promoted thereby and the fear of criticism arising from a pardonable failure of diagnosis should not prevent one from speaking of the undiagnosticated.
