This book, comprising nine papers with discussions of eight of them, is the thirteenth Psychiatric Research Reports monograph of the American Psychiatric Association. It is dedicated to Dr. Arnold Gesell, as a tribute to him in his eightieth year. The papers were presented at a Regional Research Conference held at the State University of Iowa in 1960. The first of these papers, all presumably concerned with child development and child psychiatry, is a glowing tribute by Leo Kanner, to Arnold Gesell and his place in the history of developmental psychology and psychiatry. There follows a paper by Hilda Knobloch and Benjamin Pasamanick, entitled "An Evaluation of the Consistency and Predictive Value of the 40 Week Gesell Developmental Schedule."
