Anatomy of the Newborn: An Atlas.

Abstract

Edmund S. Crelin, Professor of Anatomy at Yale University School of Medicine, has filled a gap in anatomic literature with this atlas. Professor Crelin's fine drawings made from dissections provide, in one volume, a complete overview of newborn anatomic structure. He has pulled together, into a meaningful whole, information which previously existed but was scattered in many references. It should prove to be a useful addendum to the pediatrically oriented physician's armamentarium. The pediatrician in training, as well as the pediatric surgeon, will find it a valuable reference. The atlas is organized on a regional basis with four and five color illustrations in most instances. There is no text accompanying these illustrations. With few exceptions the dissections are standard ones for an atlas and thus will enhance the reader's ability to make comparisons with adult anatomy. The drawings have been carefully prepared and are clearly labeled. Errors in printing and
