The special issue about the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and the eye in the July 1996Archiveswas interesting. Two questions are raised by this disease and its management. First, for the various manifestations of AIDS, what are the recommended follow-up intervals? Second, should general ophthalmologists or retina specialists be observing the patients? Comments from the authors would be welcome.
