To the Editor.— We were interested in the report of two cases of proved cerebral vein thrombosis manifesting as intracranial hypertension in Behcet's syndrome (Archives1981; 38:643-645). The authors stated that this association "has not been a well-recognized feature of the syndrome." We wish to bring to their attention that two similar cases have already been reported in the French literature. 1 Both patients fulfilled the diagnostic criteria for Behcet's syndrome and had angiographically demonstrated cerebral venous thrombosis. Dural sinuses were involved in one patient and an internal cerebral vein in the other. Intracranial hypertension was a prominent feature in the first patient. In both cases cerebral venous thrombosis was the first manifestation of the disease and occurred in the absence of other signs of "neuro-Behcet." The outcome was favorable.
