Management of Arterial Occlusive Disease.

Authors: Carl W. Hughes;

Management of Arterial Occlusive Disease.

Abstract

This very complete book represents a compilation of papers and discussions presented at the National Conference on Management of Occlusive Arterial Disease, held in Nashville in November 1970. The conference was sponsored by Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, St. Thomas Hospital, and Baptist Hospital. The 38 conferees include outstanding individuals in the field of vascular disease; their contributions are published as 28 chapters. Many of the sections have added commentary by one or more of the contributors as well as some of the 34 additional discussants present. The subject of occlusive arterial disease is thoroughly covered from the effect of diet, medical, and surgical management to sympathectomy and amputation. The text is basically surgical, and some chapters describe detailed surgical techniques while others report patient results and statistics. The subjects covered include peripheral, visceral, renal, cerebral, and coronary arteries. The book is well organized with 288 illustrations and additional tables.
