Its subject is the use of samples of Ukrainian musical folklore in educational work with schoolchildren of different age groups. The main approaches to the usage of samples of Ukrainian musical folklore in modern artistic space have been highlighted. The analysis of the problem based on musicological sources and Internet content has been given. A brief analysis of methodological approaches regarding the place and role of folklore samples in modern educational practice has been presented. Attention is focused on the methodological aspects of using musical folklore in educational work with schoolchildren of different age groups. There have been presented examples of the developed and tested actual forms of its representation in work with preschool and school audiences in educational and extracurricular activities. Examples of the usage of samples of musical folklore of the winter and spring ritual cycle while working with schoolchildren of different age groups have been given. Attention is focused on the main areas of the activity of the creative workshop “ЕTNOKREATORS”: local history research group, decorative and applied art group, folklore ensemble, theatre group. The results of the study testified to the successful approbation of the experimental methodology, which combined traditional and new forms of organizing extracurricular activities of schoolchildren of different age groups. An effective factor was the organization of interaction between the family, the educational environment and the parish community. It is suggested that a brief summary of the main positions of the research will be interesting material for pre-service music teachers and their academic supervisors. It will allow those involved to perform more active work relevant to the modern educational process with the purpose of forming the cultural and civic self-identification of school and student youth.
