The rare collections of the Research Library. The basic stages of formation of book collections in one of the best libraries of the South of Ukraine are revealed. The Research Library has a long history, during which the funds of rare book collections were formed. She takes her beginning from the book collection of Richelieu Lyceum. It is shown that research of rare collections as an integral part of social communications is one of the main tasks for today. Rare collections occupy a special place in any library of the world. During the historical development, the Research Library was replenished with various collections. The book collections of famous figures of Odessa of different periods were analyzed, among them there were state figures, university professors and scientists, and their significance for the development of communication and information processes was shown. Among the most prestigious collections is the collection of the Vorontsov Fund. In the collection of Alexander Stroganov, a large number of publications printed in France are concentrated. The role and place of book collections in the informational space are determined. Rare collections of the Research Library are valuable bearers of socially important information. By studying such publications we see the influence of the results of human civilization on the formation of personality of different historical periods.

В статье исследованы редкие коллекции Научной библиотеки ОНУ имени И. И. Мечникова. Выявлены основные этапы формирования книжных коллекций в одной из лучших библиотек Юга Украины. Показано, что исследование редких коллекций является одной из важных задач на сегодня. На протяжении исторического развития библиотечный фонд Научной библиотеки пополнялся различными коллекциями. Проанализированы книжные коллекции известных деятелей Одессы разных периодов, среди которых были и государственные деятели, и профессора университета, и ученые; показано их значение для развития коммуникационно-информационных процессов.

У статті досліджено рідкісні колекції Наукової бібліотеки ОНУ як надзвичайно важливу складову. Виявлено основні етапи формування книжкових колекцій в одній з найкращих бібліотек Півдня України. Показано, що дослідження рідкісних колекцій є одним із важливих завдань на сьогодні. Протягом історичного розвитку бібліотечний фонд Наукової бібліотеки поповнювався різними колекціями. Проаналізовано книжкові колекції відомих діячів Одеси різних періодів, серед яких були й державні діячі, і професори університету, і науковці та показано їх значення для розвитку комунікаційно- інформаційних процесів.
