Introduction. The main problem in the study of the phenomenon of professional well-being in psychology is the problem of conceptualizing this concept, as well as distinguishing it from similar in content, but not identical constructs. The variety of terminology complicates the understanding of the content of the phenomenon of professional well-being and, accordingly, the search for ways to manage personal well-being in the professional context. Purpose. The purpose of the study is a theoretical analysis of the main approaches to the consideration of the concept of "professional well-being" of an individual in domestic and foreign psychology, as well as clarification of the structural components and definitions of the studied phenomenon. Methods. The specificity of the research goal determined the expediency of using a complex of general scientific theoretical methods, in particular analysis, generalization, systematization and comparison of scientific data. The research material was collected based on the analysis of scientific publications in the field of organizational and economic psychology, as well as behavioral sciences. Originality. The article provides a comparative analysis of the existing terminology and theoretical approaches to the consideration of the concept of "professional well-being" in domestic and foreign psychology. The author's contribution consists in clarifying the structural components and definitions of the studied phenomenon. Conclusion. Psychological well-being in the professional sphere is considered using terms that differ significantly in content. In our opinion, the term "professional well-being" most fully and accurately conveys the essence of the concept, unlike other options, it is characterized by the presence of a clear definition (well-being in the professional context), is quite concise and does not contradict world practice. The review of different approaches to the study of this phenomenon also showed significant differences in the definition of its structural components. We consider it expedient to apply a subjective approach and consider professional well-being as a subjective reality, which is expressed in the emotional state of satisfaction/dissatisfaction of the employee with various aspects of his professional activity. The identified components of the structure of professional well-being allow us to make an assumption that this integrated state is formed in connection with the extent to which individual needs are realized in professional activity.
