The content, types of initial classes with teaching methods (information lectures with elements of retrospective analysis, discussions and pre-planned errors; practical classes built on interactive technologies: “Microphone”, “Stream of thoughts”, “Change position”, simulation games, etc.) of the elective discipline “Professional image of a preschool teacher” are presented. It is emphasized that the specified educational component integrates the professional knowledge of future teachers in normative disciplines, develops their image-forming competence and creates a basis for studying the educational component “Image of a preschool educational institution”, the elective components “Image of a director of a preschool educational institution”, “Image of a methodologist of a preschool educational institution” by applicants for the master’s level of higher education. The lectures reflect the characteristics of imageology, pedagogical imageology, components of the educator’s image, methods of its construction and development, image-making skills. Examples of conducting lecture and practical classes using active and interactive teaching methods are given. Attention is focused on theatrical pedagogy as a means of comprehensive formation of visual, verbal, internal, professional components of the educator’s image and improvement of image-making competence of future preschool education specialists.
