The article deals with verbal expression of the concept Ukraine in the artistic heritage of Ivan Ohiienko. It is found out that the concept is structured by four types of attributes: motivational, conceptual, figurative and value. It is the artistic texts that have the greatest potential for a figurative image of Ukraine: the metaphorical models Ukraine is a living creature, Ukraine is a mother, Ukraine is Ruin. The motivating feature is etymological data called «country», «neighborhood», «borderland»; conceptual sign is formulated in the definition of verbalizer word. The value of the concept Ukraine testifies to the frequency of appeal to it. I.Ohiienko was a conscious Ukrainian. Ukraine was very fond of and put it and the Ukrainian Church culture very high, therefore in the works the image of Ukraine is surrounded by an emotional circle. The very first emotion the country is calling is love In the analyzed contexts, I. Ohiienko identifies the state and the people, that is, the concrete word-formation of the tokens of Ukraine, its connectivity reveals association, the transition of one meaning to another: «the country + people» The concept Ukraine in the work of Ivan Ohiienko is a key category, the structural and artistic dominant of the whole work of the ascetic. The frequency of appealing to his is an indisputable proof of this. This concept – a bridge mental unit, which concentrates the most characteristic features: country, people, living creature, mother. Much attention is paid to the author of the destruction of his native land, the corruption of his neighbors-enemies. Also, the verbalization of the concept involves other features that convey Ukrainian luck: cordocentrism, positivism, religiosity, sacrifi ce, and disunity.

У статті йдеться про вербальний вияв концепту Україна в художній спадщині Івана Огієнка. З’ясовано, що концепт структурують чотири типи ознак: мотивувальні, поняттєві, образні та ціннісні. Саме художні тексти мають найбільший потенціал для образного зображення України: поширеною є метафоричні моделі Україна – жива істота, Україна – мати, Україна – Руїна. Мотивувальною ознакою лексикографічні джерела, зокрема укладений дослідником словник, називають етимони «країна», «край», «Україна»; поняттєву ознаку сформульовано в дефініції слова-вербалізатора. Цінність для І. Огієнка концепту Україна засвідчує частота апелювання до нього в текстах.
