FORMATION OF NATIONAL AND CULTURAL IDENTITY OF FUTURE MUSIC TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF PRACTICAL TRAINING

FORMATION OF NATIONAL AND CULTURAL IDENTITY OF FUTURE MUSIC TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF PRACTICAL TRAINING

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of forming the national and cultural identity of future music teachers in the process of practical training. The authors consider national-cultural identity as a component of national identity, which characterizes the individual’s awareness of his/her own belonging to the national-cultural space of his/her country, acceptance of its customs and traditions, and behavioral patterns based on patriotism and national dignity. The author presents the structural components of national and cultural identity: cognitive-semantic, emotional-value and activity. It is noted that the formation of national and cultural identity is a dynamic process that depends on age characteristics, socio-cultural environment and pedagogical influence. It is emphasized that the formation of national and cultural identity is actualized as a result of students’ active interaction with cultural objects. The authors substantiate the need to fill the educational process with national cultural, historical and ethno-cultural content. It is noted that the cultural approach in the process of practical training determines the formation of the national and cultural identity of future music teachers as an integral part of patriotism. The purpose, tasks, and functions of cultural practice are defined. The importance of organizing educational cultural practice on the basis of artistic local history is emphasized. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of modern forms of event-based learning (master classes, art forums, art festivals, workshops, art exhibitions, musical performances), museum and pedagogical and project technologies, the use of problem-based and heuristic methods, and the encouragement of independent research.
