Novel “Musician” by Taras Shevchenko and “Preciosa” by Carl Maria Weber

Abstract

Охарактеризовано упоминание о музыке к драме «Прециоза» К. М. Вебера. Определено место произведения в музыкальной культуре ХІХ столетия и причины его популярности. Сделан вывод о том, что романтическая мемуаристическая повесть Т. Шевченко «Музыкант» является важным источником музыкально-исторических сведений, а все наследие Т. Шевченко заслуживает нового прочтения и осмысления, в том числе, и как музыкальноисторический источник.

This article analyses the mention of the music to a drama “Preciosa” by C. M. Weber and determines the place of the work in the musical culture of the 19 century and reasons of its popularity. The conclusion is drawn that a romantic memoir by T. Shevchenko “Musician” is an important source of musical and historical information, and Shevchenko’s literary work should be revised and considered a valuable source of musical history.

Охарактеризовано згадку про музику до драми «Преціоза» К. М. Вебера. Визначено місце твору в музичній культурі ХІХ століття та причини його популярності. Зроблено висновок про те, що романтична мемуаристична повість Т. Шевченка «Музикант» є важливим джерелом музично-історичних фактів, а вся спадщина Т. Шевченка заслуговує на нове прочитання та осмислення, зокрема і як музично-історичне джерело.
