Impact of the evolution of the wireless telecommunications sector on the economic efficiency of information and communication technologies

Abstract

In the article, formation and development of wireless telecommunications are analysed. Significant role of wireless communication in ensuring national security, functioning of government agencies and businesses, meeting communication needs of the population, and increasing economic efficiency of information and communication technologies is shown. It is determined that the basis of wireless telecommunications is the use of the radio frequency spectrum to transmit data over different distances at different speeds and quality. It is shown that the first form of wireless telecommunication was the radio telegraph and radio communication, and evolutionary stages of their development are analysed. It is noted that one of the areas of application of radio communication is mobile communication. Emergence and main stages of development of different generations of mobile communications are analysed, with a generalisation of the main characteristics of 1G-6G standards. It was found that each successive generation of communication provides greater speed and quality than the previous one. Features of development of mobile communications in Ukraine are considered. It is shown that Ukrainian mobile communication is carried out mainly by 3G and 4G standards. Prospects for deployment of 5G mobile networks in our country are investigated. Advantages of the fifth generation of mobile communications for Ukrainian business and population are analysed. The main characteristics and capabilities of the sixth generation of mobile communications are summarised. It is shown that 6G will provide extremely high data rates, minimal latency and global coverage by integrating terrestrial and satellite networks, combining traditional mobile communications, sensors and high computing power. It is shown that due to development of wireless telecommunications, economic efficiency of information and communication technologies is growing and business productivity is increasing.

У статті проаналізовано розвиток сфери безпроводового електрозв’язку. Досліджено її вплив на економічну ефективність інформаційно-комунікаційних технологій. Визначено, що основою безпроводового електрозв’язку є використання спектра радіочастот для передачі даних на різні відстані з різною швидкістю та якістю. Зазначено, що однією зі сфер застосування радіозв’язку є мобільний зв’язок. Проаналізовано основні етапи розвитку різних поколінь мобільного зв’язку 1G-6G. Розкрито особливості становлення мобільного зв’язку в Україні. Показано, що український мобільний зв’язок здійснюється переважно за стандартами 3G та 4G. Досліджено перспективи впровадження в нашій країні стандартів 5G, 6G.
