Specific characteristics of therapy of Henoch-Schönlein purpura associated with streptococcosis

Specific characteristics of therapy of Henoch-Schönlein purpura associated with streptococcosis

Abstract

The author has studied the role of infectious agents in the development of Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) in 62 children. An association of disease with streptococcusis was revealed in half of the children of school age and teenagers with HSP, whereas in part of the patients it was combined with persistent viral infection. For the purpose of eradicating streptococcus the traditional complex of the therapy of HSP patients was supplemented by the prescription of an antibiotic. While revealing the replication of herpetic virus, the patients underwent a course of antiviral therapy (Acyclovir for 10 days combined with Viferon or Laferobion during 1,5 months) in case of an inactive stage of the viral infection the preparations of Interferon were used during 1,5 month.
