The state of the bllod pro- and antioxidant systems with surgical treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia

The state of the bllod pro- and antioxidant systems with surgical treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia

Abstract

A study of the pro- and antioxidant systems was carried out in 23 patients, when performing surgical treatment for benign prostate hyperplasia, the extent being transurethral resection of the prostate. A considerable activation of the blood prooxidant system occurs during the operation. A comparative analysis of the obtained findings, concering the effect of transurethral prostate resection, as one of the modes of treating benign hyperplasia of the prostate on the state of pro- and antioxidant systems, has been carried out.
