The Siege of Lviv High Castle by Cossack Forces in 1648

Abstract

The article is devoted to coverage of the little-known episode of the National Liberation War that took place in the context of the siege of the city of Lviv Bogdan Khmelnytsky in 1648. But the definition of the role of the High Castle in the defense of the city of Lviv, based on Polish and Ukrainian sources.

Стаття присвячена висвітленню маловідомого епізоду доби Національно-визвольної війни українського народу проти польського панування у 1648–1654 рр., який відбувся під час облоги Львова Богданом Хмельницьким 1648 р., та з’ясуванню ролі Високого замку в обороні міста.
