INTONATIONAL MELODIC CHARACTERISTICS OF WELSH PRONOUNCING TYPE

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the experimental investigation of melodic characteristics of Welsh pronouncing type. Based on the perceptive and acoustic types of analysis the investigation allowed to make a prosodic portrait of the analysed regional type of pronunciation, which includes the following characteristics:- prevailing of emotionally coloured heads such as rising, wavy, sliding;- frequency of rising falling and falling terminal tones;- wide range of frequency, realized in high upper register. The results of the investigation allow to state that British national standard of pronunciation (RP) has a certain influence on Welsh accent which is revealed in prevailing of Falling terminal tone and high frequency range.

Данная статья представляет собой экспериментальное исследование, посвященное анализу мелодических характеристик уэльского типа произношения. Проведенное методом перцептивного и акустического видов анализа исследование выявило влияние национального британского стандарта RP на уэльский произносительный тип, что проявляется в частотности нисходящего терминального тона и высокого частотного диапазона. Отличительной особенностью уэльского произношения является преобладание эмоционально окрашенных шкал и восходяще-нисходящего тона.

Пропонована стаття становить собою експериментальне дослідження, присвячене аналізу мелодійних характеристики уельського типу вимови. Проведене методом перцептивного та акустичного видів аналізу дослідження, виявило вплив національного британського стандарту RP на уельський вимовний тип, що проявляться в частотності спадного термінального тону та високого частотного діапазону. Відмінною особливістю уельської вимови є переважання емоційно забарвлених шкал і висхідно-спадного тону.
