Abstract

The authors described the use of the methodology for assessing the acoustic properties of a room using an example of a room with special acoustic conditions. Substantiation of the sequence of acoustic examination stages was carried out, an acoustic examination algorithm was described for placing the press center in order to obtain optimal acoustic conditions. The authors proposed three options for acoustic finishing of the room, differing in the cost of the materials used. The modeling of the acoustic field in the room was carried out for all three finishes. The article presents the simulation results with the analysis of the obtained objective characteristics of the sound field, taking into account the particular purpose of the room. All three surface treatments in the press center allow us to obtain a uniform trend of the frequency dependence of the reverberation time, which has a positive effect on the perception of speech material, to provide almost perfect speech clarity and intelligibility in all listening spaces. When analyzing the structures of the reverberation process, characteristic areas were identified at each listening position, for which the presence of reflections with a high amplitude and the same period was characteristic. The cause of such reflections are parallel surfaces that do not have a high absorption coefficient. The presence of such multiple reflections due to parallel surfaces leads to a significant deterioration in the acoustic quality of the room. The authors have proposed ways to solve the problem by changing the profile of the front wall of the cabinet, located on one of the parallel surfaces, and displacing the doorway from its original position. The article presents the results and analysis of the structures of the reverberation process at the control points after changing the profile of the front wall of the cabinet and changing the position of the door.
