The main objective of this article is to find out peculiarities of interpretation of the past and current state of Ukrainian-Russian relations by the authors of “Nash lemkо” (“Our Lemko”). The research task aims at a comprehensive reconstruction of the problems of Ukrainian-Russian relations, presented on the pages of the magazine “Nash lemko”, the flagship of Ruthenian periodical of the interwar period. The research methodology is based on the combination of principles (historicism and objectivity) and methods (philosophical, general scientific and special historical ones) of scientific study, which are usual for works on the history of science. Summarizing the reconstruction of Ukrainian-Russian relations presented on the pages of “Nash lemko”, we have to point out its conceptual thoughtfulness and content saturation. In the first case, the consistent of congregational thinking among the readers was highlighted. Through this prism, Moscovia became an eternal enemy of Ukrainians, which destroyed their unity by all possible means with the aim of further physical subjugation and spiritual extermination. This worldview model was carefully substantiated by the magazine’s publicists with numerous examples in Eastern Europe region from the Middle Ages to Modern Times. They consistently proved to the reader the civilizational difference between European Ukrainians in terms of their values and the barbaric world of Russian despotism. Affirming the life optimism among the Rusyns, who were impoverished by fate troubles, the authors of “Nash lemkо” emphasized the historical invincibility of Ukrainians in this unequal and cruel struggle, based on the ethical principle of teleological superiority of good over evil. Finally, let us point out the national policy success of the publishers of the Ruthenian periodical, because despite the powerful leveling influences and the lack of their own statehood, the lemkоs mostly remained with the Ukrainian national choice.

Мета статті – з’ясувати особливості інтерпретації минулого й актуального стану українсько-російських взаємин авторами «Нашого лемка». Завданням розвідки є всебічна реконструкція проблематики українсько-російських відносин, представленої на сторінках флагмана русинської періодики міжвоєнного часу часопису «Наш лемко». Дослідницька методологія спирається на звичне для праць з історії науки поєднання принципів (історизму та об‘єктивності) і методів (філософських, загальнонаукових та спеціально-історичних) наукової праці. Підсумовуючи представлену на сторінках «Нашого лемка» реконструкцію українсько-російських взаємин, вкажемо на її концептуальну продуманість і змістову насиченість. У першому випадку йшлося про послідовне утвердження соборницького мислення в середовищі своїх читачів. Крізь цю призму Московія поставала одвічним ворогом українства, який всіма можливими заходами руйнував його єдність із метою подальшого фізичного закабалення і духовного винищення. Таку світоглядну модель публіцисти часопису ретельно узасаднювали численними прикладами з історії східноєвропейського регіону від доби Середньовіччя до Новітнього часу. Вони послідовно доводили читачеві цивілізаційну відмінність європейського за своїми цінностями українства від варварського світу російської деспотії. Утверджуючи життєвий оптимізм серед знедолених негараздами русинів, автори «Нашого лемка» акцентували на історичній нездоланності українців у цій нерівній жорстокій боротьбі, виходячи з етичної засади телеологічної переваги добра над злом. Насамкінець вкажемо на успішність національної політики видавців русинського часопису, адже попри потужні нівеляційні впливи і відсутність власної державності лемки здебільшого залишилися при українському національному виборі.
