The article is devoted to the study of Boyko surnames as a regional object of anthroponymy, in particular, a lexical and semantic analysis of Boyko surnames motivated by personal appeals is carried out. It is emphasized that the study of surnames of different areas of language functioning is important in view of the reflection of local vocabulary, phonetics, and grammar in them, and is relevant as a source of knowledge of the social, cultural, and ethnic characteristics of speakers, as it demonstrates especially clearly the connection between language and culture and tradition. Examination of these anthropo-units will allow us to answer questions about the origin and development, lexical and semantic, word-formation, and motivational features of the surnames of the Boyko region, their morphemic and grammatical composition, etc. As a result of onomatopoeia through semantic word formation, appellatives turn into surnames directly or through nickname formation. The bases of surnames motivated by appellatives with the meaning of person reflect the most diverse characteristics of the original bearer of the name. The study of the appealing bases reflected in the Boyko surnames made it possible to model six thematic groups of anthropemic units. It is noted that it is difficult to unambiguously determine the motivation for the formation of some Boyko surnames, which could have been formed from appeals of different semantics The high activity of anthropemic units of the thematic groups "Names of people by profession, occupation", "Names of people by external features", "Names of people by internal features" is noted; less productive is "Names of people associated with mythological ideas". The study revealed a significant frequency and prevalence of some surnames and sporadic, occasional occurrence of others. The analysis of the Boyko surnames formed from the appellative designations of persons opens up the prospect of a comparative analysis of the surname system of different areas of language functioning to outline Ukrainian surnames as a component of anthroponymy.

Статтю присвячено дослідженню бойківських прізвищ як регіональному об’єкту антропоніміки, зокрема здійснено лексико-семантичний аналіз прізвищ бойків, мотивованих особовими апелятивами. Акцентовано, що дослідження прізвищ різних теренів функціювання мови важливі з огляду на відображення в них локальної лексики, фонетики, граматики, актуальні як джерело пізнання соціальних, культурних та етнічних особливостей мовців, адже особливо яскраво демонструють звʼязок між мовою і культурою, традицією. Розгляд цих антропоодиниць дасть змогу відповісти на запитання щодо походження та розвитку, лексико-семантичних, словотвірних і мотиваційних особливостей прізвищ Бойківщини, їх морфемного, граматичного складу та ін. У результаті онімізації завдяки семантичному словотворенню апелятиви переходять у прізвища безпосередньо або через прізвиськотворення. В основах прізвищ, мотивованих апелятивами зі значенням особи, відображено найрізноманітнішу характеристику першоносія назви. Дослідження відапелятивних основ, відображених у прізвищах бойків, дало змогу змоделювати шість тематичних груп антропоодиниць. Звернено увагу, що важко однозначно зʼясувати мотивацію формування деяких бойківських прізвищ, які могли утворитися від апелятивів різної семантики Відзначено високу активність антропоодиниць тематичних груп "Назви людини за професією, родом занять", "Назви людини за зовнішніми ознаками", "Назви людини за внутрішніми ознаками"; менш продуктивна ‒ "Назви людей, повʼязані з міфологічними уявленнями". Виявлено значну частотність і поширеність одних прізвищ та спорадичність, оказіональність інших. Аналіз прізвищ бойків, утворених від апелятивних означень осіб, розгортає перспективу порівняльного аналізу прізвищевої системи різних теренів функціювання мови для окреслення українських прізвищ як складової антропонімії.
