ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AS A FACTOR OF PERSONAL PROFESSIONAL WELL-BEING

ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AS A FACTOR OF PERSONAL PROFESSIONAL WELL-BEING

Abstract

Introduction. Organizational culture is a relevant field in the context of the study of professional well-being, as it plays a decisive role in shaping the behavior of employees in organizations through the performance of several functions: it supports the internal integration and adaptation of employees to the external environment, influences their beliefs, regulates emotions and behavior in certain situations, provides management of work processes. How employees perceive their work environment and organizational culture is important to their well-being, health, satisfaction, and quality of work. Purpose. The purpose of the study is a theoretical analysis of the relationship between organizational culture and various aspects of the professional well-being of an individual. Methods. The specificity of the research goal determined the expediency of using a complex of general scientific theoretical methods, in particular analysis, generalization, systematization, and comparison of scientific data. The research material was collected based on the analysis of scientific publications in the field of organizational and economic psychology, as well as behavioral sciences. Originality. The article provides a theoretical analysis of the connection between organizational culture and various aspects of the individual's professional well-being. The author's contribution consists in highlighting the influence of the characteristics of different types of organizational culture on the professional well-being of employees. Conclusion. Given the role that organizational culture plays in employee well-being, organizational leaders must implement strategies to create a workplace culture that promotes employee well-being and productivity. Theoretical analysis shows that high ratings of employee happiness in the workplace are associated with an encouraging and positive environment that emphasizes social ties between employees, promotes self-development of employees and expands their rights and opportunities, approves of creative behavior, provides an opportunity to adhere to one's own values and beliefs, as well as feel free to behave and stand up for what they believe is important, and is characterized by low stress, i.e., it satisfies employees' needs for safety, belonging, competence, autonomy, respect and achievement.
