Augmented reality and her role in social media

Abstract

World leaders of digital innovations today actively demonstrate the development and implementation of virtual, augmented reality in technology and society. Now and in the future, this will significantly transform most areas of activity such as production, education, marketing, medicine, etc.The analysis of recent studies has shown that in scientific and practical literature, in addition to the concepts of virtual and augmented reality, the concepts of augmented reality and metaverse are often found. At the same time, views on this terminology differ. Clearly defined terminology allows avoiding ambiguities in judgments and, ultimately, making the right decisions by specialists.Therefore, the purpose of the article is to systematize the existing knowledge in this area and to disclose on this basis the quintessence of different formats of reality and their applications.The article analyzes the concepts of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, extended reality. The data on the volume of the world market of virtual and augmented reality are used. It is determined in which areas of activity these types of reality are successfully applied and can be effectively implemented in the future. Based on the analysis of the virtual and augmented reality headsets market, its trends in the near future are determined by key aspects, including the number of users, the need for social communication, global spending, startups, implementation in production, e-commerce, etc. This articledefines the role of the metaverse, as the successor of the Internet, in the development of virtual and augmented reality.Combining the collective opinion of leading experts in this area will allow to better understand the essence of the concepts of different types of reality and their differences, help to advance knowledge in this area and make the right decisions in practice.

У статті розглянуто поняття розширеної реальності, віртуальної та доповненої реальності, розкриваються значення цих термінів і сучасної концепції, особливості та відмінності віртуальної та доповненої реальності. Зазначаються можливі сфери використання видів реальностей як технології, яка змінить світ. Представлений прогноз збільшення ринку розширеної реальності в найближчі роки. Досліджено роль метавсесвіту та вплив розвитку віртуальної та доповненої форм реальності на соціальні медіа.
