Abstract

[eng] Children are at a unique and unrepeatable moment in their lives, where they develop skills such as problem-solving, independence, autonomy, curiosity, communication, and divergent thinking, all which are related to creativity, a characteristic trait of childhood. The purpose of this research project was to identify the relationship between visual arts and creativity. To achieve this, an educational program was designed and implemented, utilizing the Reggio Emilia workshops, for a group of children living in poverty who attended early childhood education in the rural schools of the Samborondón canton of Ecuador during the 2023 academic period. A Multi-Method methodology was used, combining different approaches such as observational, selective, and quasi-experimental methods. Additionally, data analysis was conducted using Mixed Methods, as this methodology embodies the complementarity between quantitative and qualitative perspectives. The findings demonstrate that the figures invented by the children are a factor in the development of creativity, leading to the recommendation for educational agents to rethink educational transformation and innovation to encourage children's creations.
