ВОСПРИЯТИЕ ОБРАЗА ЛУНЫ В ПОЭТИЧЕСКОМ ТЕКСТЕ РУССКИМИ И КИТАЙСКИМИ СТУДЕНТАМИ

Abstract

This paper examines the differences in the perception of the poetic symbolism of the moon by Russian and Chinese students, which allows us to identify the influence of cultural background on the interpretation of this multifaceted symbol. The analysis was based on materials from psycholinguistic experiments using the method of filling in text gaps, as well as the method of compression (collapse) of the text. In the first case, the poetic text was purposefully lacunarised: respondents were asked to insert any words and phrases that were suitable in meaning into the gaps; in the second experiment, it was necessary to come up with a title for the poem that would reflect the main meaning of the text. The results of both experiments demonstrated different aspects of the perception of “lunar” symbolism: Russian students focus on the emotional assessment of the image, while Chinese students focus on its philosophical understanding, demonstrating the significant influence of the Chinese cultural context.
