Abstract

Работа посвящена исследованию способов перевода наименований тайских продуктов питания на русский язык. Существующие варианты перевода наименований продуктов питания с тайского языка на русский зачастую неадекватны и неэквивалентны, в них отсутствует понимание специфики тайских продуктов и тайской культуры питания в целом. Объектом исследования являются наименования тайских продуктов питания. Цель исследования заключается в изучении способов перевода наименований тайских продуктов питания и разработке методических рекомендаций по переводу наименований с учетом культурных реалий. Материал исследования представлен 125 наименованиями тайских продуктов питания, продающимися в розничных магазинах города Екатеринбург и на маркетплейсах. Проведенное исследование показало, что наиболее распространенными способами перевода наименований тайских продуктов питания на русский язык является описательный метод (29,6% проанализированных случаев) и калькирование (18,4% случаев). Перевод наименований тайских продуктов питания – это распространенная проблема, на что указывает большое количество неточностей в выявленных вариантах перевода. В исследовании разработаны методические рекомендации по переводу наименований тайских продуктов питания на русский язык. При подборе переводных эквивалентов необходимо учитывать не только языковые, но и культурные реалии.

The paper is devoted to the research of ways to translate Thai food names into Russian. The existing variants of translation of food names from Thai into Russian are often inadequate and non-equivalent, they lack understanding of the specificity of Thai products and Thai food culture in general. The object of the study is the names of Thai food products. The aim of the research is to study the ways of translation of Thai food names and to develop methodological recommendations for translation of names taking into account cultural realities. The research material is represented by 125 Thai food products sold in retail stores of Yekaterinburg city and on marketplaces. The study showed that the most common ways of translating Thai food names into Russian are the descriptive method (29.6% of the analyzed cases) and calquing (18.4% of cases). Translation of Thai food names is a common problem, as indicated by the large number of inaccuracies in the identified translation variants. The study developed methodological recommendations for translating Thai food names into Russian. When selecting translation equivalents, it is necessary to take into account not only linguistic but also cultural realities.
