Abstract

The phonon spectrum of the entire range of rare-earth stannates R2Sn2O7 (R = La–Lu) and yttrium stannate Y2Sn2O7 was studied within a general ab initio approach, the frequencies and types of IR and Raman modes were determined, experimental data were supplemented and interpreted. The degree of ion participation in phonon modes were determined from the analysis of displacement vectors obtained from the ab initio calculation. The elastic constants and Vickers hardness were calculated. The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the elastic modules and phonon frequencies were studied. It is shown that the high-frequency IR and Raman modes F1u and F2g, caused by the displacement of oxygen ions at position 48f, are most sensitive to hydrostatic pressure. The distortion of the crystal lattice has been studied: Y2Sn2O7:Eu3+, Y2Sn2O7:Yb3+, Nd2Sn2O7:Gd3+, Nd2Sn2O7:Tb3+, Lu2Sn2O7:Yb3+. It is shown that the Yb3+ ion practically does not distort the lattice when embedded in Y2Sn2O7 and Lu2Sn2O7, while Eu3+ when embedded in Y2Sn2O7, as well as Gd3+ and Tb3+ when embedded in Nd2Sn2O7, cause significant local lattice distortions (up to ~ 0.05 Å). The crystal structure, phonon spectrum and elastic properties of ZrO2 in monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic phases were studied. Activated crystals of t-ZrO2:Y3+, t-ZrO2:N3+, and t-ZrO2:S4+ were studied. It is shown that the substitution of 6 % of Zr4+ ions with Y3+ ions leads to a decrease in elastic modulus by 15-20 %, an increase in the anisotropy of elastic properties and a decrease in fragility. It is shown that the activation of zirconium dioxide with nitrogen or sulfur expands the optical absorption edge into the visible region. The results were presented at national and international conferences in the form of 3 oral and 9 poster presentations by the author personally. В рамках единого ab initio подхода исследован фононный спектр всего ряда редкоземельных станнатов R2Sn2O7 (R = La–Lu) и станната иттрия Y2Sn2O7, определены частоты и типы ИК и КР-мод, дополнены и интерпретированы экспериментальные данные. Из анализа векторов смещений, полученных из ab initio расчета, определена степень участия ионов в фононных модах. Рассчитаны упругие постоянные, твердость по Виккерсу. Исследованы упругие модули и частоты фононов при наложении гидростатического давления. Показано, что высокочастотные ИК и КР моды F1u и F2g , обусловленные смещением ионов кислорода в позиции 48f, наиболее чувствительны к гидростатическому сжатию. Исследовано искажение кристаллической решетки соединений Y2Sn2O7:Eu3+, Y2Sn2O7:Yb3+, Nd2Sn2O7:Gd3+, Nd2Sn2O7:Tb3+, Lu2Sn2O7:Yb3+. Показано, что ион Yb3+ практически не искажает решетку при внедрении в Y2Sn2O7 и Lu2Sn2O7, в то время как Eu3+ при внедрении в Y2Sn2O7, а также Gd3+ и Tb3+ при внедрении в Nd2Sn2O7 вызывают существенные локальные искажения решетки (до ~ 0.05 Å). Исследованы кристаллическая структура, фононный спектр и упругие свойства ZrO2 в моноклинной, тетрагональной и кубической фазах. Исследованы активированные кристаллы t-ZrO2:Y3+, t-ZrO2:N3+, t-ZrO2:S4+. Показано, что замещение 6 % ионов Zr4+ ионами Y3+ приводит к уменьшению модулей упругости на 15-20 %, увеличению анизотропии упругих свойств и уменьшению хрупкости. Показано, что активация диоксида циркония азотом или серой расширяет край оптического поглощения в видимую область. Результаты представлены на всероссийских и международных конференциях в виде 3 устных и 9 стендовых докладов автором работы лично.
