Abstract

The article presents the results of a comparative experimental study in the artistic photography category. The nominations of two landscape photographs proposed by speakers of Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures are compared. The strategies with which respondents demonstrate recognition of the depicted object as belonging to their native culture in the category “recognition” are identified. Conclusions are drawn about the relationship between the types of proposed nominations and the characteristics of the image proposed for nomination.
