Abstract

Pre-university pre-vocational training inevitably involves acquaintance of applicants with the trends of the modern media world. Future students must be prepared for the risks and costs of current journalistic activities, but at the same time they should not forget the principles and values of the professional culture. A serious discussion that erupted between academic circles and practitioners: what to teach today at faculties, is noticeably shifting towards information technology. Based on the experience of the Sunday School of Journalism and survey results of applicants and students, the author argues that the creative component of classes, at least, should not be reduced.
