Abstract

In I. A. Goncharov's novel "The Same Old Story" and V. O. Pelevin's story "Hermit and Six-Toes" similar paths of development of the main personages were discovered, one of whom is "strong" and the other is "soft". In two works of Russian literature, the "stronger" personage influences the "softer" one, and by the end of the story, the second one becomes similar to the first one. At the same time, the character of the "stronger" personage is much deeper than it seems at first glance.
