The article is devoted to the biography of Ivan Ilyich Susorov, an Ural mining engineer of the 18th century. The process of personal development of I.I. Susorov as a professional with universal skills and extensive experience, which has been working in many areas of life in the Urals of the 18th century, is considered. The main projects of I. I. Susorov are considered, the connection of I.I. Susorov with other mining engineers is analyzed, the influence of I.I. Susorov on the development of the Ural region is evaluated.
